Stewardship at Living Waters Lutheran Church

Stewardship at Living Waters is alive and well! The mission statement of the Stewardship Team at Living Waters is:

“As a faith community, we endeavor to use the gifts God has given to us to serve the needs of people both within and outside of our congregation."

We do this in these ways:

I. Educate and encourage the congregation to respond with their entire lives to the gifts of God’s grace through:

a. By encouraging new and current members to recognize and grow their spiritual gifts and support the various ministry teams’ needs.

II. Offer opportunities for the congregation to act out their thankfulness for God’s abundance through our ministry teams.

III. Growing the faith and generosity of the community of Living Waters

a. Coordinate Fall Stewardship Drive

b. Communication and education on stewardship for the congregation year round

One of Living Waters’ Core Beliefs is:

Serving others by equipping people for ministry.

  • Includes various Spiritual Gifts and leadership development
  • “The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” - Ephesians 4:11-13

How does one find their spiritual gifts? By taking a Spiritual Gifts Inventory.  Once you know your gifts, you are better equipped to serve using them.

Living Waters’ mission statement, “Sharing the Grace of Christ” reflects our commitment to being good stewards with what God has first given freely to us. Ephesians 2:8-9 states “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing;  it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Ways to be a good Steward: Live the 3 T’s!

Share your TIME: reach out to one of the committees to ask how you can help.

Know your TALENTS: take a spiritual gifts inventory.

Contribute your TREASURES: donate to LWLC or another worthy cause.

Stewardship is not about “giving until it hurts;” it’s giving BACK in joy and gratitude what is freely given to us first out of grace. A good steward is one who uses the above to the best of their abilities.

Our Stewardship Ministry Team meets throughout the year with a focus on ways to celebrate the gifts of our congregation. We are always looking for new members to contribute fresh ideas.
