September 2020 Living Waters participates in the national day of service of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) on the second Sunday in September. The program is called "God's Work, Our Hands."
In 2020, our expression of Gods Work Our Hands is to invite members to serve the community as individuals and households doing random acts of kindness throughout the month of September. We also have some distanced group projects:
Making face masks and donating them in the cooler by the front door of the church. (You can also find donations of fabric and possibly elastic in the cooler to use in making the masks.)
Contributing items for "sensory kits" for children enrolled in Indian Prairie Elementary School. The school has identified a need for 25 kits. You can drop off your donations in a bin placed beside the front door of the church. Click here for a shopping list.
In non-pandemic years, God's Work Our Hands activities take us out into the community. We have done projects such as assembling school kits and doing yardwork for seniors or local community-service organizations.
