When we worship in our building, our two worship formats have followed the same basic order of worship. However, some differences make each service unique.
  • Traditional (8:30 AM)--This service is rooted in the traditional Christian/Lutheran liturgy.
  • Contemporary (10:45 AM)--The order of worship is modified so music focuses on praise and worship led by our praise band.
Children have the option to attend worship with their families, attend Sunday school during the second service, or leave the service during the sermon to hear the gospel lesson in Sunday school. Children are always welcome in worship!

What to expect

Picture
  • Atmosphere:  We are a community of faith energized by what God is doing in the world.
  • Dress:  Those who come to worship dress in anything from their soccer or softball uniforms to business casual.
  • Communion:  We celebrate Holy Communion each week.  If you believe Christ is present in the bread and wine, please come to Christ's table.  If you would prefer to come forward for a blessing simply cross your arms over your chest at the first station.
  • Flow of Worship:  Our worship service has music throughout, beginning by welcoming God into the space.  We move into confession and forgiveness.  We hear and meditate on God's word, then  we confess our faith together and pray.  Reconciled to God and one another, we come to Christ's table for Communion.  We are sent into the world refreshed in Christ's love.

Weekly Text Study

We generally follow what is known as the Revised Common Lectionary.  This is a three year rotation of texts that regularly include: Old Testament, Psalm, New Testament and Gospel readings.  You can find out more about this sequence here.
If you would like theological perspectives on the readings here are a couple of sites that pastors sometimes use for sermon preparation:

Worship Leadership

There are many different ways for people to be involved on a Sunday morning from those who greet at the door to being an assisting minister.  We are always looking for those who feel called to minister in this way as their gifts allow.
