Men's Fellowship
Ron Byrne

Hey all you guys: At 7:00 a.m. this Saturday, November 15 at IHOP, prior to the Men's Breakfast (No, I'm not eating 2 breakfasts), I will meet with Mike Thomas and any others who are interested in beginning a men's small group(s). I've spoken to some of you about this and you plan to attend. For others, this may be the first you've heard of this initiative. This is not intended to be an exclusive group. I emailed those whose email addresses I could quickly find. Please feel free to forward this email to and invite others who think may be interested.

I've come to the realization that I must be more intentional about growing in relationship with Christ and that I need a few other guys who are willing to travel that path with me. I struggle and fail and I know others do also. I want to be more faithful and mature and I know others do also. I need the support and encouragement of other men, facing similar spiritual battles, who will stand with me and pray for me and I want to do the same for them.

I see our men's small group(s) as building upon Men's Breakfast. In small group(s) we would put more emphasis on being intentional and more responsible for our relationship with Christ. Small group(s) will develop in us a more "passionate spirituality" and make us better servants, husbands, fathers, workers and help us better utilize our gifts . . . . . . .

The group would largely focus on supporting one another in our spiritual struggles and victories and committing to praying for and supporting each other. There would be some bible study/devotional also. We will challenge, support and encourage each other to grow and make changes in our lives that will enable us to be fully what Christ wants us to be. This will go beyond discussing sports, weather and work. It will build strong, spiritual friendships, character and foster integrity. Mike has a book that will be great for us to start with, Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. Please feel free to purchase it but its not necessary to have it for this Saturday.

I hope to see you at IHOP this Saturday at 7:00, prior to Men's Breakfast so we can plan how to can accomplish this.
