Living Waters participates in the national day of service of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) on the second Sunday in September. The program is called "God's Work, Our Hands." We have served the community in a variety of ways. Click the link at right to see the ELCA's 3-minute video about Gods Work, Our Hands.
This year we will have two opportunities to choose from:
1. Making school kits for Lutheran World Relief. We will join our Algonquin neighbors (including two members) at Clarendale senior living community for this project. We need donations of school supplies (see below), which we will pack together into backpacks on GWOH Sunday.
2. Grounds work in partnership with Troop 194. We will be spreading mulch and cleaning up the Living Waters grounds with Boy Scouts from Troop 194, which meets at our church.
Supplies to donate (avoid items with slogans):
Spiral notebooks: 70-page, wide or college ruled
Rulers: 30 cm, with inches on one side
Pens: black and blue, no gel ink
Crayola crayons: boxes of 16 or 24
#2 pencils: unsharpened
