How are we "God's hands" helping to feed the hungry?
Living Waters partners with others in the Foods Resource Bank (FRB). To learn more about this program, join us when we welcome visitors from FRB at our worship services on Sunday, June 11.
This Lent at Living Waters, we helped to grow food for some of the world's hungriest people. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, was invited to help raise enough money to rent a 1/2 acre of land to support the Foods Resource Bank (FRB).
The estimated 2017 cost per ace is $750 for the use of the land plus seeds and fertilizer. Thanks to all the ways people saved and contributed, we raised more than $800--more than enough for a full acre!
What happens with the money? The farmer will grow the corn and sell it. The money from the land we rented will go to FRB, which will use it to help poor people around the world raise their own food. To learn more about FRB, go to http://www.foodresourcebank.org/.
